The people who accessed the service were supported by staff who were appropriately recruited and trained.
The provider had an effective complaints management system.
We found that the provider had made changes to their safeguarding and whistle blowing policies and now included a short description of what abuse meant and on how to report concerns to external bodies such as the local authority safeguarding office and the CQC.
Care staff we spoke with told us that they had regular supervision meetings with the registered manager. They also told us that they could access advice and support from the registered manager when required. Care plans were detailed and took account of people's individual needs and how this would be supported.
We saw the provider took adequate steps to protect the people they cared for and their care staff from harm but needed to make improvements to ensure that they had a working policy on safeguarding and whistleblowing.
