During an inspection looking at part of the service

The purpose of this inspection was to follow up on areas where we had asked the provider to make improvements. These related to having an effective system to monitor people's experience of care and treatment, and ensuring any fire risks were identified and minimised to protect people who accessed the service.

We found the provider had taken action following our last visit by conducting and reviewing satisfaction surveys and implementing a fire safety policy.

During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with two people using the service and three staff including the provider, a dental nurse and a receptionist. We viewed four clinical records and two staff files. People told us they were happy with service. Comments included, "I am totally satisfied" and "the dentist is very patient, as I quite a nervous during treatment."

People said that their consent was always sort before any treatment commenced. They said that the dental practice was clean and well maintained and were satisfied with the standards of infection control.

Provisions were in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies and staff had received adequate support and training to meet the needs of people using the service. Some systems were in place to monitor the quality of service provided, however, people's views and opinions had not been taken into consideration in relation to how the service was run.
