Inspection carried out on 13 December 2012

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two out of three people who lived in the home. Both people had learning disabilities and were unable to communicate verbally to us, however we communicated with them through the help of their support workers. Both people indicated that their needs were being met, they were happy with their support and with the support workers. Care was personalised to suit people’s needs and wishes. Staff were sensitive with people and engaged positively with them.

People had access to health, social care and other professionals as they needed. The service followed procedures to ensure people received their medicines safely. Whilst the premises required decoration and repair throughout, the layout of the premises was suitable for people’s needs. There were sufficient numbers of staff to safeguard the safety and welfare of people who used the service. People said they had no complaints about the service.
