During a routine inspection

On the day of our inspection visit we were told that Mimosa Homecare Limited was a newly established agency and was providing support to 12 people. During our visit, we looked at five care records and spoke with the manager and the nominated individual. We later spoke with four care staff and three people that used the service and / or their relative.

People were involved in their care and were encouraged to do things for themselves as far as possible.

Care plans and risk assessments were in place so that staff had the information they needed to meet people's identified needs.

Arrangements were in place to ensure that people were safeguarded against harm.

Staff were supported, supervised and trained in their roles. One staff member told us, "I have worked in care before and find the manager here very supportive".

We saw systems were in place so that people could raise a concern or make a complaint about the service that they received. We saw one concern had been raised and this had been acted upon appropriately. One person using the service told us, "I am very happy, I have no complaints".

We saw that the provider had feedback, however there was no analysis available. We did not see any systems of audit in place to monitor the quality being provided.
