During a routine inspection

We spoke with five people who told us the staff were "absolutely fantastic" and "first class". They told us they saw the same group of care staff regularly and felt they got to know them really well. People told us they felt the staff were respectful towards them and they always asked what people wanted before performing any care tasks. People told us they felt the staff were well trained and the manager and senior care staff supported them to perform their role.

We reviewed the care plans for five people and saw that a wide variety of assessments were performed which ensured the care of people, each assessment was person centred and written with the involvement of people who use the service and their families. Risk assessments were evident for a variety of different contexts with robust measures in place which guided staff and ensured that people were cared for safely.

We spoke with three staff who told us they "enjoyed" working for the provider and felt well supported within their role. They told us the training they received was good and they were able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of caring for people within their own homes.

The manager showed us a wide variety of information they gathered about the service and demonstrated how they used this to improve the service they provided and effectively manage their staff to ensure safe and effective care of people.

During a routine inspection

The people who used the service were provided with support for personal care. We asked staff at Bluebird Care for contact details of a sample of people who used the service and we were able to carry out telephone interviews with five people who used the service.

One person told us the staff were 'very nice, helpful and kind.' Another person told us "if you had to give the staff marks out of ten I would give them twenty." Another person said the staff were 'great, nice people.' She said she felt you 'could relax and felt comfortable.'

People's privacy and dignity were supported. People received care and support that met their needs. People we spoke to confirmed they felt safe in the hands of Bluebird's care workers. People were protected from abuse. We observed that staff were properly trained and adequately supported. We saw that measures to assess and monitor the service were in place.
