During a routine inspection

We visited the premises, spoke with the registered manager and reviewed documentation. Due to the type of service they provided we were not able to speak with individuals who had received assessment and first aid. We telephoned and spoke with senior staff from the four organisations that PP Transport provided services on behalf of; including an NHS ambulance service. There were three staff employed to work on an 'as and when' basis, we also spoke with them by telephone.

Staff from the four organisations told us that they were satisfied with the services provided by PP Transport. They commented that people received a reliable service and that the transport arrived at the time that had been requested. One senior staff said, "They are very reliable and have never let us down. They go beyond the call of duty and they communicate well." The NHS ambulance service staff commented, "They are one of the better services we use." Each of the four organisations confirmed that they had not received any complaints about PP Transport.

We reviewed the processes that were in place for the hygiene of equipment. We found that transport vehicles and equipment were clean and stored in a way that prevented them from being soiled. The three staff we spoke with confirmed that there were adequate supplies of personal protective equipment to prevent the risk of infections from occurring.

Staff had received the training and support they needed to carry out their roles effectively.
