All Inspections

10 February 2014

During a routine inspection

We visited the Sussex Health Care Audiology service at the Apollo Health Centre and spoke with the audiologist and patients. We received key information following the inspection that allowed us to complete the inspection process.

We spoke with three patients and one relative during the inspection. One patient told us "Excellent, I am pleased with the service, very helpful." We were told that when patients contacted the reception main office, the staff were polite and friendly. One patient told us, "Efficient."

We found that patients felt involved in the assessment process and that they could make decisions about their care. We saw that hearing needs were assessed and the appropriate aid was supplied to them promptly. The premises were accessible to patients with disabilities. The care delivery was of a high standard and patients were pleased with the service they received.

Staff received appropriate training and professional development from the organisation. The provider had an effective system in place to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of patients using the service and others.
