Staff should be properly trained and supervised, and have the chance to develop and improve their skills (outcome 14)

Meeting this standard

We checked that people who use this service

  • Are safe and their health and welfare needs are met by competent staff.

How this check was done

We reviewed information given to us by the provider.

Our judgement

People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

Reasons for our judgement

Staff received appropriate professional development. The provider has reviewed their mandatory training provision and all staff have undertaken a range of training relevant to their role. For example, we saw that staff had undertaken training on safeguarding, health and safety, information governance, and moving and handling.

We also saw evidence that one member of staff had undertaken relevant training in relation to completing risk assessments. Following completion of their training, the staff member reviewed and updated the moving and handling risk assessments.
