All Inspections

11 March 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who used the service to ask for their views about the service. We spoke with four members of staff and sampled records of people who used the service and the provider's records.

We saw that people who used the service were involved in their plan for their treatment. They were provided with the information they needed to ensure they knew the risks and benefits of the treatment they received.

We observed that staff knew the people who used the service and how to support them. One person said, 'I have had top treatment here, the staff are brilliant.' Another person told us, 'Staff have treated me well here. The fact that I have made the progress I have speaks volumes for the service here.'

Systems were in place to ensure that people were safeguarded from harm. Staff knew what to do if they witnessed or suspected abuse to ensure that people were safe.

People were supported by staff who were well supported in their role. Staff had received appropriate training and where required were professionally registered, for example, with the General Medical Council (GMC).

People were asked for their views about the service and these were listened to. Audits were completed and action taken where needed to make improvements.
