All Inspections

12 November 2013

During a routine inspection

At the time of our inspection there were 144 people who used the service. We spoke with 18 people who used the service and six relatives of people who used the service over the phone. We also spoke with seven care workers, the registered manager and the senior quality manager for Care UK Limited.

People told us that they were satisfied with the service that they were provided with and that their care workers treated them with respect. One person said, "They (staff) do a fantastic job." Another person said, "I love my carers." Another person told us, "Very good indeed." A relative of person who used the service said about staff, "Knows what (relative) needs. Very polite."

We looked at the care records of nine people who used the service and found that although there were shortfalls in the details of some of the records we reviewed, most people experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights.

We found some shortfalls in the way the service supported people with the management of their medications.

We looked at the personnel records of five care workers. We found that staff received regular training and support to deliver care safely and effectively.

There were systems in place to monitor and assess the service that people were provided with.
