During a routine inspection
The interaction between the staff and people using the service was observed to be one of mutual understanding of peoples support needs. The positive interaction observed, demonstrated that people were encouraged to be as independent as possible.
Comments about the support provided were also positive including, ' I feel very well respected,' 'We have a notice board, where we put cards saying about how we feel and what we want to do' and 'There is more to do now and we have more staff'.
We contacted some relatives via phone to ask about their opinions of the service. Comments received were, '(Named person) would tell me if they were not treated with respect and dignity. I feel that the young people do receive respect from the staff,' 'Always been respectful towards me, they (staff) have been really good,' 'Our daughter is really happy and so are we,' 'Always loves going to the centre and when comes home very happy' and 'I value the support they (service) are providing'.
