All Inspections

5 March 2013

During an inspection looking at part of the service

The service specialises in completing x-rays for company medicals and medicals for people who are planning to move or travel abroad. At the previous inspection on 27 November 2012 people told the service provided was of good quality and met their needs. At this follow-up inspection in March 2013 we did not have the opportunity to speak with people who used the service.

At the previous inspection we found that staff did not understood their responsibilities in respect of identifying and dealing with possible abuse and safeguarding vulnerable adults. At this follow-up inspection in March 2013 we found that staff knew what steps to take to protect vulnerable adults and children from abuse.

26 November 2012

During a routine inspection

The service specialises in completing x-rays for company medicals and medicals for people who are planning to move or travel abroad. We spoke with one person who used the service. We were told that the service was good and everything that needed to be explained had been.

This person said they had been referred to Drs Batley and Bisset by the general practitioner service completing his medical checks. We were told the service was trusted because the company the person worked for always seemed to use them and if there was a problem they would have gone elsewhere.

We were told 'Yes it was all explained and there's been no problem.'

Although people who used the service were not particularly vulnerable we found the service needed to ensure all staff understood their responsibilities in respect of identifying and dealing with possible abuse and safeguarding vulnerable adults.

Overall, however, we found that the diagnostic and screening service provided by Drs Batley and Bisset met the needs of the people using the service and in the main promoted their safety and wellbeing.
