All Inspections

2 January 2014

During a routine inspection

We carried out this inspection to check on the care and welfare of people. We spoke with three people, one relative, two members of staff, and two managers within the service.

People we spoke with told us their attendance at treatment sessions, was them giving consent. Records showed that consent was not consistently recorded. One person said, "My consent is always given".

People told us the support they got from staff was good. One person said, "My key worker is really good".

The provider had procedures in place to support staff with people who required substitute prescribing regimes to improve health and promote recovery from the effects of substance misuse.

Staff we spoke with told us they were supported with supervision and training that helped them meet people's needs.

The provider had a complaints process in place so people were able to share concerns.

We found that people's care records were not always completed consistently to identify people support needs and any potential risks.

During a routine inspection

We carried out this inspection to check on the care and welfare of people. We spoke with three people, two members of staff, one relative, and managers within the service.

People we spoke with told us they were happy with the services and their privacy, dignity and independence was respected by staff at all times throughout their care and treatment. One person said, 'I am always seen privately and in a dignified way'.

One person said, "Care and treatment was brilliant" and another person said, 'I feel proud that staff are supporting me'. Records showed that care and treatment was delivered in a way that took account of people's individual needs.

Records showed that processes were in place to keep people safe and staff knew how to report abuse to keep people safe from harm. Relatives told us that they felt their relative was safe.

Records showed that the provider had a process in place to check staff suitability to work with vulnerable adults.

Records showed that appropriate audits were being done on the quality of the service and people were given the opportunity to comment on the service they were receiving.
