During a routine inspection

Staff showed a good understanding of issues regarding choice and consent. We were told; 'People have choices and that is respected.' And 'there is always a manager we can call for advice.'

People using the service provided positive feedback about the support they received. Comments included; 'Things are going very well.' 'I can always ask if I want something doing differently.' 'I get the same staff most of the time. They are all very good.' And 'I am very satisfied.'

Clear procedures, staff training and good practice helped to ensure medication was managed safely and appropriately.

The recruitment process helped to ensure that only suitable staff were employed. Newly appointed staff had a thorough induction, appropriate training and a period of time working alongside more experienced staff.

People using the service spoke favourably of the staff team. We were told; 'They are all very good.' 'Everyone is very kind.' And 'The girls are good.'

Systems were in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service that people received.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people using the service by telephone and the relative of another, who provided us with very positive feedback about Caring Hands Homecare. They told us privacy; dignity and independence were important aspects of the support provided. They felt their assessed needs were being fully met by staff who were competent to do their jobs and who ensured they were protected from harm.

Their comments included:

'I can't praise them enough. They got me back to where I started and I wouldn't be back on my feet if it wasn't for the staff'.

'They are wonderful people'.

'Thank you to the organisation because they're here for me and my family'.
