All Inspections

17 January 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with nine people who used the service by telephone and we spoke with one person who was visiting the office. We spoke to the registered manager, a service manager, four registered nurses, an occupational therapist, and a physiotherapist based at the Withywood CLDT office.

People told us what they thought of the support they received from the staff who visited them in their homes. One person told us,'the staff are all very good'. We were also told, 'the staff work hard and they are very good at what they do'.

Care records showed what assistance staff were giving people to be able to live a fulfilling life in the community. The care records also showed how to support people to maintain their health and well being. People felt they were supported by staff who understood their needs.

The staff had been on a variety of training courses to help them to effectively assist people who used the service.

There were systems in place to review and learn from critical incidents and occurrences that impacted on the health, safety and wellbeing of people who used the service.
