All Inspections

During a routine inspection

During our inspection visit we were able to speak with three people living at the home and four relatives. These are some of the things they told us.

"I can't complain at all the staff are friendly and helpful."

"The staff are lovely here."

"I find it ok living here."

"The staff are very good and the care here is adequate."

We observed interactions between care workers and people using the service and found that staff spoke with people in a polite and respectful manner.

Staff told us that they liked working at the home but did not have enough staff to meet the needs of the residents.

Following the initial visit, we also returned to the service the morning of a second day. This was because the registered manager was unavailable on the day of the first inspection and we required information from the registered manager to make our judgments.

During a routine inspection

On the day of our inspection we spoke with six people who used the service and two visitors. People told us and we saw that staff knocked on bedroom doors before entering. One relative told us, 'The staff are thoughtful, respectful and kind.'

People told us they were happy living at the home and they were looked after by the staff. They told us they had opportunities to make choices and had a say in how their care was delivered.

People told us that the staff provided individualised care and involved them in every aspect of their care.

People told us they liked the food and they were given a choice.

One relative said that on father's day, relatives were invited to dine at the home and special events such as birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated.

People told us they had not had to complain but knew who they would speak with if they were not happy. They had confidence in the management that their concerns would be investigated properly.

People told us there were always enough staff to support them when needed.
