All Inspections

14 June 2012

During a routine inspection

We observed people being spoken to in a kind and friendly manner and care being delivered that respected their privacy and dignity.

People told us staff were kind and they were well looked after. One person said that the staff could not do enough for them.

People told us they felt safe, and they knew who to speak with if they were concerned.

People told us there were always enough staff to look after them and they did not have to wait too long when needing assistance.

Comments from the homes quality assurance surveys dated January 2012, included, 'Communication is exceptional, and professionalism is of a high standard'. 'The cleaning trolley is constantly outside people's rooms; it is a large antique house but feels clean and comfortable'.

During an inspection in response to concerns

We carried out this inspection because we had received anonymous information about poor practice in relation to care, health and safety, medication, the environment, and staff falsifying records about when people are going to bed and getting up in a morning.

People told us, 'Staff are really good, in fact they fuss a bit too much at sometimes'.

People told us that if they did not want to get up or go to bed at the time specified in their care records, then they did not have to as it was their choice.

Staff observed had good relationships with people and they were seen to have their privacy, dignity and independence respected.
