During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the service. We also spoke with two relatives. They all told us that they were happy with the support they received from the agency. One person told us; "They have been absolutely excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. It's like a friend coming to your house." A relative said; "They are remarkable. They have changed my life."

We looked at safeguarding arrangements and found that there were procedures in place and the staff were trained in recognising abuse in vulnerable adults.

We spoke to the registered manager and three members of staff who all said that they enjoyed working at the service and that they thought that the service offered quality support to the people who used it.

We looked at the systems in place for recruiting new staff and saw that all the appropriate checks were carried out prior to staff commencing work at the service.

We looked at the complaints procedure and saw that this was available for people to access. We also looked at records and saw that they were completed and stored appropriately.

During a routine inspection

During our visit to the service we spoke with three people receiving reablement support and one person receiving the mobile night service. All said that they were treated with dignity and respect, their views were taken into account in the type of support they wanted to receive and they were being helped to increase their independence. For example one person said; 'I wanted help to be independent at home and this is what I have got. The carers treat me exactly how I want to be treated'. Another said; 'The carers are all very cheerful, whatever the time of day and are always kind and treat me with respect'. Another said; 'I agreed my goals and I have been helped to achieve them'.

They people we spoke with also told us care was delivered in line with their care plans and staff were reliable and on time. All were happy with the service they received and told us staff were kind and caring and looked after them well. For example one person said; 'The staff are lovely. I cannot find fault with anything'. Another said; 'They are all so helpful. I have nothing bad to say about any of them'. And another said; 'They had been marvellous at all times. My confidence has developed and improved so much'.

Two people said that sometimes they did get a number of different carers supporting them. However, they said this was not a problem as all staff were of very good quality and always knew what had been going on.
