During a routine inspection

We spoke with seven people who either used the service or were the representatives of people using the service. Each of them explained how the service had included them in the decisions made for home care support. Comments included, 'I was visited three times before the care package started and everything was sorted out. The care package was flexible to suit our needs and has remained so'.

Comments on care included 'I find the agency has been 100 percent reliable. It provides the same care worker each time. We feel safe because the staff are introduced to you before they provide care at your home and pictures were made to help my parent to remember who would be visiting. This is very helpful'. People told us they felt safe within their own home.

On the issue of training a representative told us 'staff know what to do and I think they are well trained. My parent feels very at ease with their care worker and so do I. I am very impressed with the manager of the service'.

Comments on the quality of the service included, 'by using this agency it has taken a lot of the pressure off the family. The manager will ring me once a week to update me on things, on changes happening to my relative as indicators as to how the dementia is affecting my relative's well being. This is helpful to me because it helps me to understand the changes taking place in their life. The manager will sort things out. She has excellent attention to detail'.
