During a routine inspection

People who used the service and their relatives told us, 'The service is first class.' 'The support is excellent.' 'They do a wonderful job.' Another person told us when talking about the staff member providing support, 'We get on extremely well. I wouldn't want anyone else.'

People expressed their views and were involved in making decisions about their care. We saw that people had requested changes to the care and support they received and these had been accommodated.

People were treated with respect. Staff were mindful to maintain a person's dignity at all times and support them to maintain their independence.

People's care was planned and there were detailed instructions to staff about how people wished to be supported. Staff were aware of people's physical and mental health needs and were aware of any long term illnesses or communication difficulties people had.

There were enough staff and all appointments were carried out in line with instruction from the funding authority. Staff were well supported and had access to senior staff for additional advice and support when required.

There were processes in place to monitor the quality of service provision. There was a process in place to obtain the views of people using the service and we saw that the majority of people were satisfied with the service they received.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people using the service or their relatives. People praised the carers, particularly their regular carers. One person using the service told us, "One of my carers is absolutely brilliant. When she comes in, she always asks how I am doing, and does everything for me. I look forward to seeing her."

We spoke with three care workers, the manager and their deputy. The care workers spoke well of the service, and said they were supported and enjoyed their work.

People with relevant qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience were employed to care for people at Carby Community Care. Robust recruitment and background checks were completed before new staff joined the service.

The provider sought people's views periodically and completed assessments of risks to assess and monitor the quality of service provision.
