During a routine inspection

We spoke with a range of people about the agency. They included the manager, staff, relatives and people who received a service. We also had responses from external agencies including social services. This helped us to gain a balanced overview of what people experienced using Allied Health Care.

People who used the service told us the agency provided a good service. Comments included, 'They are definitely the best. Always on time and the staff know what they are doing.'

People told us they had received a visit from the manager of the agency before the service commenced. This was to introduce themselves and carry out an initial assessment. They told us their needs had been discussed and they had agreed with the support to be provided. They told us the staff provided sensitive and flexible personal care support and they felt well cared for.

We found that there were enough skilled and experienced staff so that people had their care delivered at the right time, usually by the same people and in ways they wanted. One person said, "Whenever they can they try and keep the same carers for my relative. It does help build a relationship.'

During a routine inspection

We spoke with the manager, staff in the office and by telephone, relatives, and people who use the service. Comments we received were positive and included from staff, "Well supported, keep you informed, and provide good training opportunities." Also, "No problems I have been here quite a while so that tells you things are good."

Some people require a lot of care because of their complex needs. Staff spoken with had an awareness of individual support people required. Staff talked about the importance of treating people with respect and dignity. One staff member said, "Information in homes of clients is usually very good and up to date, so we know what support each person needs."A person using the service we spoke with said, "They are always polite and find time to talk with me."

Other professional agencies we spoke with, such as Lancashire social services said they

had no issues with the agency. They told us they had not been involved in any

safeguarding incidents.

People told us that they would be comfortable in raising any concerns they may have and feel the service is run in their best interests.
