All Inspections

During a routine inspection

All the people who used the service that we spoke to only had positive comments about the service that they had received.

People who used the service told us that they were kept well involved in the process and treatments, they were shown dignity and respect and that the environment was suitable for that with private consultation areas. People also told us that the service was well run, they had no complaints but would feel free to raise any concerns and that they would be listened to. People told us they received a very individualised service and felt the doctor genuinely cared about them.

We found the service treated people with dignity and respect and staff were particularly polite and welcoming. We also noted that the service gave people time and valued talking and listening.

Before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent.

People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights.

People who used the service, staff and visitors were protected against the risks of unsafe or unsuitable premises.

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive.

During a routine inspection

Dr McDonogh was not at the clinic, his representative facilitated the inspection. There was an ambient atmosphere with candles and soft music in reception area.

People who use the service understood the care and treatment choices available to them. People expressed their views and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. We spoke to four people on the telephone and they told us that they were fully involved in discussions about their diagnosis and treatment. One person told us that they were "Very impressed with the doctor and the service". Another said "I would recommend him 100% to anybody". We were also told that the doctor gets to 'The root of the problem'.

Care needs were assessed and actions to meet those needs were recorded. Needs were assessed in relation to nutrition and were specific for the individual person.

The provider was not prescribing any medication for people but dietary changes and nutritional supplements were recommended.

People felt safe in the clinic and there was a complaints procedure which people told us they were aware of, but that they had not had the need to complain.

The provider attended continuous updates in related subjects to remain up to date in his field.
