We found that the provider had addressed all of the outstanding actions and was meeting the required standards in obtaining consent; the care and welfare of the patient; supporting staff and assessing and monitoring the quality of the service.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who were using the service. Three of the people had been registered with the practice for over 20 years but one patient was new and had just had their first visit to Aveley Dental Practice. The new patient said that the dentist was very good and had put them at ease. They said they had been 'treated with respect' at Aveley Dental Practice and that they had previously been to 'plenty of dentists that weren't nice'. They said they would recommend the practice to others.

Of the other three people with whom we spoke, one person said they had moved out of the area but chose to stay registered with the practice because of the way they were treated by the dentist. All of the people we spoke with said they were involved and suitably informed to help them make choices. They were also made aware of costs before agreeing to any treatment.

We found that people were treated warmly and with respect by staff. We saw feedback from people that demonstrated a high level of satisfaction with the service they received.
