All Inspections

10 July 2013

During a routine inspection

Our inspection was unannounced, which meant that no one knew that we would be visiting. There were seventeen people living at the home on the day of our inspection. We spoke with nine of the people living there, the care co-ordinator and three members of staff to find out their views about the service provided. We looked at three people's records and looked around the home.

We saw that people were cared for effectively and that the care was planned for the individual. We saw that people were safe and that there were sufficient suitably qualified and experienced staff on duty.

The people who used the service that we met during the visit were very positive about the home and the care provided. Comments included: "The staff really look after you" and "The staff know exactly how to help me, they are very experienced people and we can have a good laugh along the way that makes a big difference." "The staff work hard at providing activities that help keep people active. I like the way staff are flexible and treat people like individuals. If someone wants to stay in bed longer, or have their meal in their room the staff are able to arrange this."

During our observations we saw staff providing care and support to people in a kind and caring manner. We observed good interactions between the staff and people living in the home.

19 April 2012

During a routine inspection

During this unannounced visit to the location Clere House we spoke with four people who live there, two members of staff and observed a well organised group activity that had been arranged in the main lounge. All six people involved in the game appeared to be enjoying taking part with all six people given the opportunity to answer each of the questions.

All four people told us they were "Happy with the care and support".

Another person told us "I am happy to take part in games because it keeps my brain active."
