During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people by telephone; they told us that they were happy and satisfied with the care and support being provided. Comments included, 'Our carer is very, very good. I would say that she is superb.' 'She is excellent' and 'Carers are absolutely fantastic.'

People told us they had copies of their care plans and confirmed they were always involved in any care planning with the provider.

Care staff were able to tell us about how they met the different needs of people. They told us about the training they received to make sure they were able to care for peoples care needs.

The provider did not have an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of care that people received. However there was evidence that learning from incidents took place and appropriate changes were implemented.

During a routine inspection

We contacted people who received care from the service and also spoke with family members of people who were being supported by the service. We asked people for their views about the service and the care and support staff provided. The people we spoke with told us they were happy with the support provided and said the service provided "excellent" and "very good" quality of care.

People said they had been included in agreeing the care to be provided by the service and had a copy of their care records and agreement and good information had been provided in the service information.

Everyone we spoke with told us they felt safe receiving care from the service and that it was "reliable" and one person told us that "They are excellent and really lovely" with their relative and the care they gave.

People told us they knew who they could speak to if they had a concern or complaint and said they would be confident raising concerns with the provider of the service.

The provider had systems in place to identify, assess and manage risks and to ensure that care was delivered effectively and to people's satisfaction.
