During a routine inspection

We used a number of different methods to help us reach a judgement on the quality of service provision. These included undertaking telephone conversations with twenty per cent of people who used the agency. We also spoke with the provider, the service manager and care staff. We looked at records which included care plans and information about how the service was managed.

People told us they were provided with sufficient information to make an informed decision as to the suitability of the agency in meeting their needs and were very satisfied with the quality of the service they received. One person said, 'The service we receive is very good. We have regular reviews of the care plans and I feel the staff are very caring. They provide me with peace of mind and I feel confident in their presence. I don't have to worry about anything. Anything that needs to be done is done, they are very caring.'

People told us that in their opinion the agency employed suitable staff. One person told us, 'All the staff are excellent, they turn up on time and stay for one hour, more sometimes. It's a premium service and they employ premium staff.' Another person said, 'I would describe the service I get as excellent, all the staff are caring, they never rush me. It's a well-run service and they all treat me very well.'

We found that effective quality auditing procedures were in place to monitor the service and people told us they were encouraged to contribute to the auditing process.

During a routine inspection

People told us they were very satisfied with the quality of the service provided by the agency. One person told us, 'We really have something special with this agency. All the care staff are respectful and friendly.' Another person told us, 'All the staff at the agency are very respectful. I've had other agencies in the past but this one is the best.'

People told us that they had been involved in the formation of their support plans and felt that the care staff and the management team would respect their opinions and decisions and would always promote their privacy and dignity when providing there support package.

People told us that they felt the all staff employed at the agency were suitably trained and performed their duties in a professional manner. Comments included, 'All the staff are excellent,' and, 'Some staff are better than others but they are all very good.'

People told us that they felt confident in reporting any issues of concern or complaints to the staff employed at the agency and felt that any concerns would addressed effectively by the management team.
