During a routine inspection
We accompanied ambulance staff on two journeys as they transported people from their homes to attend clinics at a hospital. We were able to speak to people about their experiences and observe how ambulance staff assisted and generally interacted with their passengers.
We spoke with the manager and two ambulance staff about working practices, procedures and training.
The provider had systems and arrangements for managing several matters. They included procedures that ensured vulnerable people were protected from the risk of harm. There were arrangements in place that ensured people's suitability to work with vulnerable adults was checked before they started their employment. The provider also had arrangements in place in place to check that their procedures were implemented properly.
