During a routine inspection

During our inspection visit we spoke with three people who used the service and a relative. We spoke with two qualified nurses and a doctor. People told us they were satisfied with the quality of care and treatment they received. People's needs were assessed and the treatment was provided after consent was gained. One person said, 'I rang the service a week ago, got the appointment for today and have had the injections, which was the best options for me right now.' Another person complimented the staff at the service and said, 'I was very impressed because I didn't know what this surgery was. He [doctor] explained everything and made me feel quite comfortable.'

People received their care and treatment in an environment that is clean and safe. The provider had taken steps to ensure the premises were suitably designed, secure and well maintained.

People told us that staff were polite and courteous at all times. People were supported by trained and qualified staff that had been screened to ensure they were suitable to work with vulnerable people and trained for their job. Staff maintained their own knowledge and their professional registration.

Information about how to make a complaint was given to people when they were referred to the service and available on the provider's own website. People had opportunities to make comment or a complaint about the service, which was acted on. One person said, 'I've not got any complaints about this service, they are excellent.'

During a routine inspection

People told us of their complete satisfaction with the service. They praised the professionalism of all staff and the quality of the care they had received. They also told us they were fully involved in the development of their care plan and kept informed of any changes.

We found that the provider appropriately assessed people's needs and then designed and delivered a package of care that comprehensively met people's needs. The professional skills of staff are regularly reviewed and the whole service is subjected to regular audit in order to identify any issues and provide information to direct future improvements.
