All Inspections

1 July 2013

During a routine inspection

We inspected Euromed Ambulance service in May 2013 and raised concerns in five key areas of service. We returned on the 1 July 2013 to check what actions the provider had taken. We saw marked improvements in all areas raised previously.

We found that people's privacy, dignity and independence were respected and that people's views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care. People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights and they were supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff.

Systems were in place so people were protected against the identifiable risk of acquiring infections and we found there was a clear framework now in place to measure the standard of service provided by Euromed Services LTD. There were positive comments by patients about the quality of service and care provision including privacy and dignity requirements being met: such as 'We cannot fault the service we received' and 'Highly efficient informative caring staff who clearly enjoy their job'.

21 March 2013

During a routine inspection

We were not able to speak with people using the service because Euromed Ambulance service had been significantly reduced due to the lack of contractual work and there were no regular users of the service at the time of our inspection.

We found that people's views and experiences were not taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care. The provider could not show that people experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights. We saw that people were also not always protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had not been followed.

There was minimal evidence to show that staff received appropriate training, professional development, supervision and appraisal. We saw that the provider did not have a robust system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received. Developments were needed to ensure a clear framework was in place to measure the standard of service provided by Euromed Services Ltd.
