During a routine inspection

We were told that Medidriveplus Limited provided repatriation services for people who had been injured whilst out of the United Kingdom. This work was most usually undertaken on behalf of insurance companies under travel insurance arrangements. The provider did not offer any 'blue light' or emergency services and did not provide services at public events. We saw that because the needs of the people using the service were stable and predictable, that the provider had matched many arrangements to this.

We were unable to speak with people who used the service because at the time of our inspection no patient journeys were in progress. However we did look at patient feedback forms.

The vehicle used to provide the service was parked at the registered address but the provider no longer maintains an office base at this address. The provider told us that they were currently looking at more flexible options for office facilities.
