Overview

Inspection carried out on 6, 7 August 2013

During a routine inspection

Our inspection took place over two days and we were accompanied on our first day by an expert by experience.

We spoke with people accommodated in "Percy" and seven other similar properties provided by The Providence Projects for people who attended their structured day programmes.

In total we spoke with13 people to hear about their experiences of the support and help they received.

We spoke with four of staff team about training and their roles and responsibilities.

We also spoke with representatives from two statutory agencies who had arranged placements for people at The Providence Projects for their views about the service.

The 13 people we spoke with were at different stages of their treatment programmes but all expressed positive views. They told us they were treated with respect. People who had had specific cultural needs said these were accommodated and upheld.

There were arrangements in place that ensured the help and support people required was assessed and delivered in a way that met their individual needs.

People were protected from risks associated with the unsafe use and management of medication.

The provider had arrangements in place that ensured staff were appropriately supported in relation to their responsibilities to enable them to provide the support and help people needed.
