During a routine inspection

We met with three service users and three members of staff. Some people attending the clinic for treatment told us that parking was difficult but others said that they had been able to park easily in the main car park. People told us that they had been able to book an appointment for a time that was convenient for them. Staff told us that the waiting time for appointment was approximately two weeks but one person told us that they had waited for four weeks for an appointment.

We saw that the clinic was situated in the outpatients department of a community NHS hospital. The building was old but in a good state of repair. The furnishings were basic but clean. There were toilets near to the clinic and these were accessible to people with physical disabilities.

One person attending for treatment said that their treatment had been "brilliant". Another person said that their appointment had "not been helpful", adding that "staff had done what they could but that they were restricted". One person told us that they had got an appointment date very quickly after their initial referral. All people attending for treatment said they were seen at the time of their appointment and had not been kept waiting.

Staff were observed to speak to people in a polite and friendly way and people receiving care said they were treated with dignity and respect.

There were robust clinical governance arrangements in place to ensure quality and safety outcomes were reviewed.
