All Inspections

9 October 2013

During a routine inspection

During this inspection we spoke with eleven people including the relatives of two people who were supported by staff from B and M Community Services, three staff and the manager. We also spoke with two professionals who worked in partnership with the staff at the agency. Comments included; 'The staff are worth their weight in gold', 'I have no concerns', 'The support staff turn up on time' and 'I was involved in my care plan.' All people spoken with said they would recommend this service and that they didn't have any concerns or complaints. Staff told us, 'The management are supportive and any time we need any support, they are always there for us'. 'I feel I help my clients to lead a more full and independent life style' and "The manager is approachable any time. I have no worries at all. They are all patient and understanding".

We saw there were systems in place which enabled people to consent to their care and support. People who used the service were involved in reviews of their care and told us they were able to influence the support they received.

We saw the agency had not received any formal complaints in the last year and the Commission had not received any complaints about B and M Community Services.

We saw the agency had appropriate recruitment checks made before commencing employment and people were recruited safely.

The provider had a system in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.

During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

The purpose of this review was to review the improvements made following our last inspection of the service in April 2012. From the review of the information provided and a discussion with the manager by telephone we found that staff were able to receive appropriate professional development and were able to obtain further relevant qualifications.
