During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke to three people who had used the service and also one person who had now moved onto be a peer mentor to provide support to help current service users through their journey. We invited them to share with us their views and experience of the care they received during their time being supported by the service.

One person who used the service said 'I wouldn't be here without the help of the service; I would be back in prison. The staff are brilliant very supportive.'

We spoke to a person who had used the services previously they told us 'I was supported and encouraged to become a peer mentor, I have had lots of training to help me support people who are using the services.'

We observed five care files, these were well organised and had a person centred approach. The service helped the people who used the service make their own assessment on their life, to set goals, map their emotions and be involved in a recovery plan which identified the persons needs.

The service had robust quality audit and monitoring systems in place to support the care delivery. The project manager told us about their 'flash meeting". This took place everyday to update all staff on set agenda items which included duty cover; nurse appointments; arrest; custody and prison; courts; home visits; safeguarding; new risks; volunteer staff in service on that day; sickness or absences of staff; annual leave of staff; meetings; and any other business.
