Overview

Inspection carried out on 20 December 2013

During a routine inspection

Eastgate Supported Housing provides accommodation for people who are recovering from drug or alcohol misuse. The service is shown as having two registered managers. Sandra Eden no longer manages this location her details appear on this report as we have not received an application to remove her details.

We saw that people who used the service had provided written consent to the terms and conditions of living at the home. People told us they understood that there were restrictions associated with living at the home and accepted that the restrictions formed part of their rehabilitation.

Support for people who used the service was planned around their personal needs with the ultimate goal of enabling people to return to the community with structure and purpose in their lives to help them prevent relapses.

Eastgate Supported Housing presented a clean environment for people to live. A person who used the service said, We all do our bit, vacuuming and wiping things down. Its so you get into the habit for when you go home.

There were sufficient suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff to provide the care and support people needed.

The provider had comprehensive auditing systems both locally and nationally to enable them to monitor and assess the quality of service provided.
