The provider had implemented a system for the regular checking of the emergency medicines kit and oxygen held on the premises. We saw that medicines were now checked on a weekly basis. We checked all the emergency medicine items and found they were in date and fit for use.
People we spoke with were complimentary about the care and treatment they received. People told us, "It's fantastic. The staff are really good. Believe it or not I enjoy going there'; 'It's very good, I like them. It's very positive and upbeat treatment' and "I'm very happy. Otherwise I wouldn't keep going back.'
We saw that the provider had a safeguarding policy available and staff told us that they had undertaken training in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
We found there were some gaps in the systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.
We noted staff who worked at the practice undertook regular training and updating as part of an ongoing programme of continuous professional development.
We saw the provider did not always undertake the necessary checks to assess risk and monitor the quality of the service.
