Meeting this standard

We checked that people who use this service

  • Benefit from safe quality care, treatment and support, due to effective decision making and the management of risks to their health, welfare and safety.

How this check was done

We looked at the personal care or treatment records of people who use the service, carried out a visit on 5 December 2012, checked how people were cared for at each stage of their treatment and care and talked with people who use the service. We talked with staff.

Our judgement

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive

Reasons for our judgement

Staff told us that the views of people on the quality of service received were important to the practice. We saw in the notes that their had been a recent patient feedback survey and the results we saw showed that people using the practice were complimentary about the care received and how they were treated by staff.

People were regularly asked for their views and suggestions on changes they would like to see. A member of staff told us that they read these and used any comments or suggestions to understand where improvements were needed.

We asked staff about the process for auditing the quality of the service provided. We saw that the practice had good auditing procedures. Evidence was available to show that checks were regularly made on records and equipment. This was to make sure that the practice operated safely and efficiently. This meant that the provider had a system that enabled them to assess and monitor the quality of the service that they had provided.
