During an inspection looking at part of the service

We did not speak with any people who used the service during our visit.

Overall we found that effective systems were in place to ensure that clinical supplies and medicines were in date and available, and that all single use items were disposed of following use. This meant that medicines and clinical supplies were being used appropriately to ensure the welfare and safely of people who use the service.

During a routine inspection

As part of this inspection we spoke with two people who used the service and four members of staff.

People told us that they were happy with the care provided. One person told us that the provider was 'Very friendly and caring'; another person told us 'The Doctors are quite professional'.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection and staff understood the importance of these.

The provider had systems and audits in place to monitor the quality of the service. However we found that some of these audits were ineffective as the provider had medication and sterilised instruments which had gone past their expiry date.

Records were completed each time a person attended. Staff understood the importance of detailed and accurate records.

During a routine inspection

It is a small business with a very simple organisational structure consisting of three members of staff, two of these being the nominated individual and registered manger who carry out the procedures.

As part of this inspection we only spoke with one person who used the service who was very happy. The told us that the clinic was 'always spotless' and that 'staff were very thorough in explaining things and not just acting as a sales rep (representative)'.

The provider had a comments book: one person had written 'every time I have been extremely satisfied with the standard of care'; another person had written 'great advice given'.
