During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who had attended an appointment on the day of our visit. People we spoke with told us they were happy with their care and treatment and were fully informed about any treatment that had been recommended by the dentist. People's comments included: 'The dentist is very patient and he has advised me on general mouth care.' 'The dentist always discusses and explains what he proposes to do. I have today received written information about proposed dental work for me to consider. I have always been provided with a treatment plan which includes information about costs.' 'I think they are really, really good, everything is explained in full and in the past I've been offered advice over the phone.' 'It's an excellent practice, all staff here are very pleasant and help you feel relaxed, it's very family orientated.' People told us they received a text or e-mail reminding them of their appointment or advising them to contact the practice to book an appointment.

We found by speaking and observing staff that there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. We reviewed the infection prevention and decontamination records and policies and found them to be up to date.

We found by speaking with staff and reviewing records that the dentists and dental nurses regularly accessed training. The dentist had an effective quality assurance system which included seeking the views of people registered at the practice.
