How this check was done

Our judgement

The service had practices in place to ensure cleanliness and to protect people from the risk of infection.

Overall we found that Family Dental Practice was meeting this essential standard.

User experience

Patients told us that the practice was always clean and comfortable.

Other evidence

We viewed all of the premises, which was found to be very clean and hygienic. There was a cleaning schedule in place.

Staff were provided with uniforms, which they were not permitted to wear outside of the practice. We noted that protective clothing such as eye masks and disposable gloves were provided.

We were provided with a demonstration of how instruments that required decontamination were dealt with. Staff showed us the procedures for checking instruments after the washing phase and produced confirmation that they attended infection control training.
