During a routine inspection

Patients told us they were very satisfied with the service provided. They felt they were given enough information about their treatment options, and the relevant fees, and were able to ask all the questions they wanted to. Comments included, "All the staff are friendly and polite"; "I'm very impressed with the surgery"; "I've found them very good" and "My first impression is really good".

People using the service (patients) felt they were treated with respect, and their right to privacy in discussions and treatment was upheld. One person told us, "I'm definately treated with respect - without doubt". People also confirmed that their treatment, and discussions about treatment, took place in private; generally in the treatment rooms (surgeries).

People felt they were sufficiently informed about, and involved in, the planning of their treatment. They were all aware of their 'treatment plan'. Patients also felt that different options for treatment were properly discussed and that they could make their own decisions based on the dentists' information and advice. Comments from patients included, "Things are thoroughly explained - very much so"; "The dentist gives me advice about the different options" and "My dentist has shown me my treatment plan on the computer and thoroughly explained what's being done".

With respect to the treatment people received, patients told us that they had 'thorough' check ups/ assessments and that a treatment plan was developed and explained. In addition one person said, "I always feel safe; never frightened". Others said, "If I need an urgent appointment I can get one very quickly - but it may not be with my dentist"; "This is a very good dentist"; "I think they have developed modern techniques"; "I have no complaints at all - never had to make a complaint" and "Waiting times are well managed - there isn't a long wait in the waiting room".

Patients spoken with felt that the premises, including the surgeries, were clean and hygienic. People said, "It always seem spotless to me"; "The instruments look clean" and, "The hygienist wears gloves, uniform, visor and covers their hair".
