Overview

Inspection carried out on 23 May 2013

During a routine inspection

People we spoke with were very satisfied with this dental practice. One said "I would recommend this practice without hesitation", another said that "I get very clear explanation of my treatment here, and I trust the dentist's decisions". Feedback from surveys carried out by the practice also indicated a high level of satisfaction from people.

Each new patient had a check of their medical history and a discussion with the dentist before treatment. At the initial consultation, the dentist explained the different treatment options, their risks and their benefits, and the cost.

On the day of the inspection the practice was clean and well maintained. There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. Staff had been trained in infection control. The dental nurse undertook safe cleaning of the treatment room and sterilisation of re-useable equipment.

Staff had attended relevant training to support their professional development.

The practice had effective systems to review and monitor the quality and safety of the service provided, which included seeking feedback from people. using the service
