During a routine inspection

People using the service we spoke with were very happy with the service. For example, one person told us: 'He's the best dentist I've been to in my life. He's polite, helpful. He can't do enough for you. Nothing's too much trouble.' Another person said: 'My dentist is very good. I always like to come to her.' People were able to describe why they needed treatment and the different options they had discussed with their dentist. For example, one person told us: 'By and large treatment is painless. I don't think I have unnecessary treatment. I'm really quite clear about the treatment required and the cost. We discussed a costlier treatment, but I made my choice.' People we spoke with told us they felt comfortable and safe while they received treatment and had no concerns about cleanliness and hygiene in the practice. A few people we spoke with said they sometimes had to wait too long to get an appointment and to be seen once they arrived at the practice. Other people told us they never had to wait.

We found people using the service were involved in decisions about their care and were treated with dignity and respect. They experienced treatment and care that met their needs and were protected from the risk of infection. Safeguards were in place to protect people from abuse, and the provider had a system in place for monitoring the quality of service people received.
