During a routine inspection

We spoke to ten people who use the service, one relative and five members of staff. General feedback from people who use the service included 'it's nice isn't it', 'they're darn good', 'I rather like it' and 'I think it's marvellous'. One individual reported that 'it's very nice here' and another person said 'it's the little things they care about'.

Feedback about staff included 'all very helpful and friendly', 'very nice staff', 'they work hard', 'they're good' and 'they're ok ' a little bit busy at times'.

Two compliance inspectors completed this inspection, which was unannounced and took place over a day. One inspector completed our SOFI (Short Observational Framework for Inspection) tool. The SOFI tool allows us to spend time watching what is going on in a service and helps us to record how people spend their time.

We saw good levels of wellbeing and engagement with staff members interacting positively with individuals. One member of staff spent time with different individuals on a 1-1 basis doing their nails whilst another member of staff conducted a small group session. A third staff member joined in later helping two people complete a jigsaw puzzle. Some people using the service were encouraged to join in activities such as looking at photograph books whilst other individuals read newspapers or listened to the music being played.
