During an inspection looking at part of the service

We spoke with three people living in the home who all told us that they all liked the improvements to the environment. People who have had their bedrooms refurbished were very pleased with them. Staff also told us that these improvements had made a positive impact on the people living there.

During a routine inspection

People told us that all the staff are kind, caring and approachable and listened to what they had to say. We observed that staff interacted well with people and throughout the day of the visit there was a relaxed, informal and friendly atmosphere.

People told us that they felt safe and would have no hesitation in approaching the manager or other senior members of staff if they had any concerns about their safety.

People told us that they receive their medication as prescribed and in a timely manner. One person told us that although he had in the past managed his own medication he did not feel comfortable in doing so at the present time and had requested that the home took on this responsibility.

People told us that they were generally pleased with the accommodation and facilities provided. One person said that she was very pleased that she had been able to furnish her room with personal belongings giving it a homely and individual look.
