During a routine inspection

At the time of our inspection the agency was proving support to 116 people. We visited and spoke with four people and the relative of one person who used the services provided by Carewatch ' (Redcar & Cleveland). All five people spoken with confirmed that they had been involved in discussions about the care and support people needed. They said that they were provided with the care they needed. One person told us, "My care records are in the house and I am involved in my care.' Another person told us 'They are excellent, every carer has been great.' The relative we spoke with told us 'They talk to me about Mum's care.'

All the people we visited had a copy of their care records, which also included contact information for the service along with a copy of the service user's guide, which provided a range of information about the service.

We found that the people who use the service felt safe and were protected from the risk of abuse.

We found there were appropriate arrangements in place for the recruitment of staff.

The service had arrangements in place for dealing with complaints. The people we spoke with said they felt able to raise concerns or complaints about the service.

All the people we spoke with said they were treated with dignity and respect by the staff.
