Other evidence

As part of the inspection we looked around the premises and at the equipment available for people to use. We found the home had suitable and safe equipment which met the needs of the people using the service, and that the equipment was all in working order.

Care Quality Commission had received information that the provider had, in the past, taken a considerable amount of time to arrange for faulty or defective equipment to be repaired or replaced. We asked the manager about this and he confirmed that it had been the case in the past. However, he told us that new systems were in place to ensure that repairs and replacements were now dealt with in a timely manner. This had been achieved, the manager told us, now that he had budgetary control for the purchase of new equipment and for repairs to be carried out. He told us that all equipment within the home on the day of the inspection was in good working order.
