During an inspection looking at part of the service

The majority of people using the service were suffering from some degree of dementia and we did not talk to anyone in private. We observed that people were happy and relaxed and willingly engaged in animated conversations which the staff joined in with.

In general conversation people told us that they always felt comfortable and warm, they liked their new bedrooms, and that they enjoyed the pleasant and spacious communal lounge and dining areas.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

The majority of people using the service were suffering from some degree of dementia, and most were keen to chat and share their Christmas plans. We did not talk to anyone in private but, during communal discussions, we observed that people were happy and relaxed. Everyone willingly engaged in animated conversations which the staff joined in with.

One person told us that they had recently joined a local gym which they were greatly enjoying, and now had plans to take up swimming.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

This visit focused on checking compliance with previous compliance actions where serious concerns had been identified. We only met with people on the older person's unit where we exchanged pleasantries and observed their appearance.

We saw that people were settled and relaxed and that they looked well groomed and comfortable. Those who were able to acknowledge us told us they were alright and felt well looked after.
