During a routine inspection

At the time of this visit, there were only 4 residents accommodated and we were able to speak to all of them. They said that they had not long been at the home and they had settled in well. They told us that the staff were nice and they were treated well. People said that if they had a concern or complaint they would speak to a member of staff or tell their relatives.

They said that the meals were nice and one person commented that the food was 'variable'. Two people said that the chef came in and informed them about meal options for the day. One person said that the brochure talked about a menu, however they had not seen any menus.

They said that they waited for the staff to come in and help them with their personal care and did not call for help as the staff were busy.

People said that they liked their bedrooms and they were offered the opportunity to bring with them small items of personal belongings on admission.

All the people we spoke to told us that there was no activity available and they spent most of their time in their rooms. One person said that they came and sat in the lounge 'but there is never anyone around.'
