All Inspections

11 February 2014

During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with 18 people who used the service. We also spoke with six staff members; these were the registered manager who is referred to as the manager in the report, a care manager and four care workers. We also took information from other sources to help us understand the views of people who used the service, which included care records.

The people we spoke with told us they were happy with the care they had received and with the staff team. One person who used the service told us 'The communication is brilliant. The carer keeps me completely up to date with everything'. Another person told us '[My relative] is absolutely well cared for and safe, they are very good and we are very happy'. Staff we spoke with had a good understanding of the support needs of people who used the service. One member of staff told us 'We provide support to both the carers and the cared for. Whether its emotional or physical support, whatever we feel we can do we will. It's all about taking away the stress and helping both lives'.

We found that consent was sought and obtained before any care and treatment was provided. The service also had sufficient numbers of suitably qualified staff to support people.

The service had appropriate systems in place for the management and administration of medication. We also saw that the service had systems in place to receive, handle, respond to and learn from complaints.

13 December 2011

During a routine inspection

Many people receiving a service due to disability or illness would not be able to offer their view. The June 2011 survey feedback from their full time carers told us that the agency's carers are reliable, punctual and respectful.

Their comments included 'I feel confident about the care' and 'all your staff are very approachable and understanding ' always ready to come up with a helpful solution if possible'.
